7.4.4 Linnaeus Classification

Carolus Linnaeus was an 18th century Swedish biologist who came up with a system of naming all the different plants, animals, and other life forms on Earth. In his system, there are seven "names" that describe the organism in ever-increasing specificity.
It starts with the Kingdom, which describes the type of cell, and continues down to the Genus species which describes the specific type of organism that can mate with only each other.
