Create an Earthquake Map:

1) Access the USGS Earthquake Website
2) Open up a Google Map (sign in, create map, label it as "Earthquake Map") Share with partners.
3) Label a layer ("24 hours 4.0+").Input a dot at each Earthquake that happened in the last 24 hours, with a magnitude of 2.5 4.0 or larger. Paint these red.
4) Add and label a layer ("7 days 5.0+"). Input a yellow dot at each Earthquake that happened in the last 7 days, with a magnitude of 5.0 or larger.
5) Add and label a layer ("30 days Significant"). Input a green dot at each Earthquake that happened in the last 30 days, with a magnitude of "significant."
6) Print out your world map. (Mr. Lee will help take screen shot.)
7) Draw in the plate boundaries and names, using textbook page 285.

***Shortcut***
1) Download the CSV of all earthquakes from the last 30 days from the USGS Earthquake Website.
2) Create a new layer ("30 days All"). Import the CSV file.
3) Change the color to something new.
4) Voila.
