How big is the universe? Where did it come from? What will the universe look like in the future? These are all amazing questions that physicists are still studying and struggling with today.
The most current understanding is derived from the Big Bang Theory, theorizing that the entire universe (all of its mass and energy) was compressed into an infinitesimally small singularity that "exploded" 13.7 billion years ago. From that tumultuous beginning, all of the galaxies, stars, planets, and other celestial objects came together.
