Subsitute Day (August 12th, 2008): Variables

Buenos dias senors and senoritas!

I am sorry to say that I won't be in school today. So, please practice your variables with the following activities.

1) On page 31 of your composition book, identify the variables in the following situations. Write (I) for indepedent, (C) for controlled, and (D) for dependent.

2) Try out the online activity, Lemonade Stand. In this game, you have to try and make the most money by selling lemonade. The price is really important, so guess and check to see what price gives you the most PROFIT! (Be careful though, it also depends on how much it costs to make a cup of lemonade, how many signs you make, and also the weather.) We'll have a competition when we get back, so take notes for the BEST COMBINATION.

If you want, in your composition book on page 33, create the following table.

Weather Cost to Make # of cups made # of signs made price -- # of cups sold profit
