Huge Discovery for Physicists as they think they've Discovered the Higgs Boson

You know that matter is made up of electrons, protons, and neutrons (and also up quarks and down quark and other particles), but how come these elementary particles have mass? CERN has built a huge particle accelerator called the Large Hadron Collider in Europe that smashes particles together at high velocities and observes what comes out.

Just recently, they've observed what may be the Higgs Boson, a theorized particle that suggests a new way of seeing the universe and confirms the existence of the Higgs Field.
